Transfer students are in a unique position at Cornell: you benefit from the same orientation programs as do incoming first-year students, while your age and experience are more similar to those of upperlevel students.
To help your transition into Cornell's upperlevel community, most transfer students are housed together in groups in residence halls or West Campus Houses for upperlevel students*, or in the Transfer Student Community at Schuyler House. Others choose to live in a Program House or a co-op, among students of all ages.

*In limited situations, transfer students who qualify as first-year students are placed in first-year housing.
